outfits. Thats what sell her music. i dont know when but somewhere after the 90's it no longer became about the music. Led Zeppelin as an example would write 7 minute songs not for them to be 7 minutes but because they didn't have boundaries with what they wrote. It was purely based off of talent. Music has truely been pushed back to the 'underground'. If you want good music. go look for it. Don't let MTV be the decider.

Popular culture has been on the downward spiral for quite some time. Everything has become so cookie-cutter, company created bull-shit. Its everywhere, in rock, rap(especially), metal (mainly hardcore), and pop. One artists sells then the record company recreates it in other bands. The fact that someone can sell music because of wardrobe is appalling. As a musician/poet/artist I find it extremely offensive. Her music is radio friendly, kind of origional, and she wears ridiculous...

Yeah, you're right. I guess I just meant she's smart in how she's created this persona and gotten these cattle-like followers worshipping everything she does. If you want to be a pop star, be a damn pop star, I don't care and there's nothing wrong with it. It's the act of creating the illusion that it's anything deeper and getting people to buy it is what gets me.

Art? you call that art? People these days think you can just smear shit on a canvas and sell it for a million dollars. People that buy in to this garbage and get get this smug since of artistic endeavor are morons. Calling this art is comparing it to Rembrandt or Chopin, which in no way are comparable. As many have said she is narcissistic, she puts herself on this pedestal and wants all of you to eat her shit. That is a perfect illustration to all of this.
